Taking Away the Stress

Having stressful moments is never fun. I wished I had seen this a few weeks ago when my life was a little "hairy" as Jamie Lee Curtis puts it in her fabulous book 'Today I Feel Silly: And Other Moods That Make My Day'.

The perfect way to end my Sunday

I can't believe the weekend is over already. Where did it go?! However, I did bring my weekend to a close with a Sunday date night that consisted of hitting up the Dairy Queen for a yummy chocolate sprinkle cone and a stroll around the nearby park. Now it is time to put the pjs on at 7pm {yes, I am sad like that} and get all comfy for the Amazing Race!

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

I will always heart cupcakes

{photo via martha stewart}

I came across this article and can not believe people are saying that cupcakes are dying and whoopie pies are taking over.... Well, not in my world they won't. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy whoopie pies but cupcakes are so adorable and fun to eat. Plus, the word 'cupcake' alone sounds so much cuter than whoopie pie, don't you think? Oh yah and whoopie pies do not have the capability of being baked in fun liners nor do they hold the capability of being decorated to the level of cupcakes. So there whoopie pies you have nothing on my love for cupcakes!

A Dreamy Backyard

Now that the weather is getting nicer I love spending time in my backyard especially at night. I love Arizona evenings as they are mosquito free (unlike the midwest where I grew up). While my backyard may not be as lush as these I will always find comfort in my hammock and lemon tree. I just wish my view of scenery was as luscious as these backyards.

What do enjoy most about your backyard?

Oh Happy Day

Seeing this quote immediately brought a smile to my face as it completely sums up my week! It's Friday, it's an early release day at work, celebrating a friend's birthday on Sunday, going out for yummy yogurt this weekend, and... my job is safe! After another late school board meeting on Tuesday night the board decided to save the social work program! I still have to pinch myself to believe it. So no more waiting to know what my fate would have been on May 18th, as that is when the citizens of Arizona are being asked to pass a special state sales tax. This is a very crucial time in our state so my fingers are crossed for a positive outcome.

Happy Friday and I hope something good happened this week to all of you!

Up, Up and Away

There is nothing like opening up your garage door in the morning and being able to see this! It was so close I was able to hear the people speaking and the fire going off! I immediatly ran back inside my house to grab my camera so I could capture some photos. I have never been on a hot air balloon ride but I think it would be a lot of fun. Granted, I have a fear of heights so I'm not sure how well I would do but I still think it would be a fun experience!

Have any of you been on a hot air balloon ride? If so, I would love to hear about your adventure.

What I'm Loving this Week

Loving all of these adorable cupcake liners. With all this stress I have been under I think baking some cupcakes is calling my name!

LOVE the pink combo here! These would be so adorable to use for a birthday party or baby shower

Love the floral pattern. These would be perfect for your springtime gatherings.

Who doesn't love polka dots?!

I want to buy all of these and am seriously thinking about starting a cupcake liner collection! The only downside is I love them so much I don't think I would want to use them!
Have a great day!

My own thoughts...

I found out last week that what allows me to inspire others, what brings a smile each day to my face, and sometimes even moments that I will always remember is on the chopping block. That's correct... my job. I have moments where I am so sad that I cry and then I become upset. I think to myself how can something that is so crucial to our students and families be taken away during a time like this? Especially when more and more children and families are needing assistance, and often times the school is their only place of help. I know I need to think positive and tell myself I need to trust that it will all work out in the end. I know there are a lot of people who believe in the goodness of my important role that I provide at school.

Tonight I will be attending the school board meeting where a group of us will be presenting why we are needed in our schools. I have learned that when you love something so much and feel so passionate about something and you see it slowly slipping away from you, all you can do is fight back and say lots of prayers.
