Vacation Bound

The 2011 summer getaway trip starts today!
We are off to spend ten days with family and friends in IA, MN, and in ND.
So, if you see a lady in the airport lugging three suitcases, a baby bag packed to the gills, a stroller, a car seat, and a
pack- in-play, that would be me.

PS: I do have some posts scheduled while I am gone

If We're Going to be Friends

I saw this on a blog that I read and I thought hmm, why not join in so... if we are going to be blog friends or you simply want to know more about me ask away. Anything you want ..

Perhaps you wonder where I love to shop at, do I enjoy buying groceries, what is my make up routine or better yet what is my favorite makeup product, what is my favorite meal, what is my favorite household chore and least favorite? Like I said, ask away friends!

To get started I will give you some insight and of course I would love to hear about you as well!

I am afraid of the circus. Not sure why, just am.
I am addicted to cheese
love baby clearance section at Target
I have a tendency to back into garbage cans. Good thing my new car has a backup camera.
(I think my husband was tired of replacing tail lights in my previous cars :)
Am not a fan of animals
Wish I lived near a beach
Horrible at math
I pray every night. It helps me fall asleep
I have no idea how to make a play list on my ipod ( this drives my husband crazy!)
Nordstrom makeup counter over Sephora. You?
I count eating cereal as a meal

and as always thank you for reading cherry blossoms!
Happy Monday!

Meal Time Favorites

Miss E started eating solids a few weeks ago and so far so good. I have made some baby food myself but a majority of her meals are from the Earthbest Organic baby food line. To make mealtime easier and fun for all of us, I thought I would share what are some of our favorite items.

Boon Squirt Baby Food Dispenser. Love, this item especially when we need to feed when we are out and about. A full sized jar of baby food fills the container nicely. I have had no issues with food leaking and this also makes a great travel piece.
Boon Catch Bowl. I love the suction cup bottom and the catch part helps with any spills.
Baeba Multiportions Freezer Tray. So convient to store your homemade baby food. BPA free and available in several colors.
Baby Bjorn Soft Bib. Love, Love this bib. I'm so glad my friend introduced me to these bibs. No more messy bibs to wash as this bib can easily be cleaned off in the sink. Plus, it stays in place unlike other bibs I have tried.

Phil and Teds Lobster Portable highchair. We don't have a lot of space in our kitchen plus the thought of some huge plastic, food, and germ ridden contraption sitting in my kitchen is not appealing to me. The chair comes with a travel bag so taking along to restaurants or traveling to a guests house is pretty simple.

If you have any favorite meal time favorites please share. I am on the hunt for a good sippy cup!

Daddy's Day

What a wonderful weekend it was.
We celebrated Chris's first Father's Day by having delicious Nutella banana crepes at our favorite crepe restaurant, followed by giving Chris his presents. With Chris losing his father I wanted to make sure his first Father's Day would be a day he would always remember. Little Miss E is definitely becoming "Daddy's Little Girl" and I think nothing is more precious than seeing their bond grow. After all, they have a special song that they sing on the way to "school" aka daycare. But most of all Miss E just loves to tug on daddy's hair.

To make his day special Elle and I got crafty by imprinting her hand and footprints as a keepsake for Chris.

And what else would brighten up a home on a family day more than a beautiful bouquet of peonies. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers and a reminder of my childhood. Growing up, we had peonies in our backyard and I find it important to have reminders of our own childhood surrounding us no matter how old we are.

What I'm Loving This Week

I received this book On the Night you Were Born by Nancy Tillman when Elle was born and it is my all time favorite book. In fact, my husband and I have made it ritual that on the 15th of every month we read this book to our daughter.

It's a precious read {I cry every time I read it }and if you don't have this book yet for your little one or know of someone whom is expecting this will make a wonderful gift.

6 Months of Love

Exactly six months ago today our little miracle was born. I'm loving this stage, but at the same time I want time to slow down. I don't really know where the past six months have gone. All I know is I wouldn't change it for the world.

What I'm Loving This Week

I typically wear pale pink nail {bubble bath by OPI} polish or clear as I tend to pick at my nails when they are polished {I know bad habit}. Well, now that it's summer time I have been seeing a lot of fun bright colors and I thought hmm..why not branch out a bit.
One color I am really loving is the mint/ pool green shade that I am seeing everywhere and on everyone {my J.crew stylist was wearing it the other day} and the color she recommended to me was the Ulta brand nail polish Mint Condition. I am wearing it in the above photo and have it paired with my coral and navy skirt from J.Crew. My stylist Amber, picked it out for me. She is the best!

Another new shade that I was introduced to is Essie's Chinchilly.

As you can see its a sleek gray color and is one of their best selling polishes.

What's for Dessert you Ask?

This no bake low fat cheesecake literally took me five minutes to make! Its now chilling in the fridge where it will be enjoyed later topped with fresh fruit. My family is flying into town today and we are grilling steaks and chicken tonight. Should be a fun week having them in town.

*PS: I have been making several meals from skinny taste.com. My sister introduced me to this site and everything we have made thus far has been really good. Check it out!

A Taste of Paris

For our anniversary last week my husband and I wanted to try another local French restaurant as we both love French cuisine. The special day was celebrated at zinc bistro. From the quaint patio to the amazing French Onion soup, mussels, champagne, and souffle it really did feel like we were back in Paris.
