Kid Fun: Playdough

Now that I am home with Elle I need to find some fun activities for her and I to do in the afternoons. As I was looking for ideas {on pinterest of course} I came across this homemade play dough activity. Guess what we will be playing with later this week?!.. That is unless someone tries to eat it....?!

Celebrating Motherhood

Being a mother has been the greatest gift I could have been blessed with. Every day I remind myself how lucky I am to have a precious baby girl who is named in honor of my mother, a baby girl who has the sweetest laugh, makes the funniest faces, loves to eat cheese like her momma, loves to dance and read books, knows how to make my day, and most importantly she's making me become a better person.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, and Mommy- to -be's

Big News!

We are Moving!!!
It all seems so surreal but my family is getting ready to embark on a new chapter. As much as there is excitement w/ this wonderful opportunity that has come my husband's way there is also a sense of fear and sadness. I have spent so many sleepless nights praying that this is what is best for our family as this wasn't the easiest decision but we know long term this is what needed to happen.

I will be taking 9.5 years of memories with me....

Arizona is where I helped families adopt some amazing babies/ children (orig reason why I moved here)
Met some wonderful friends over the past 9 years and I hope they will come and visit us
Learned real quick what scorpions are and how to kill them. yuck, yuck, yuck
Met the love of my life
Graduated with my masters from ASU
Entertaining my family during their summer visits. So many fond memories of the time share.
Yearly visits from one of my dearest friends, Lisa
Getting engaged in the neighborhood park
Getting married here
Having a baby
Having a job over the past four years that I have truly loved and yet has taught me so, so much
Labor Day weekend getaways to Sedona
Reconnecting with my mom's best friend/ good family friend from my childhood years who lives here.
Visiting the Grand Canyon
Having my niece fly down for a Taylor Swift concert.
I ran my first half marathon this past fall
Being able to spend this past winter with my dad

There are also a lot of things I am going to miss and a handful of things I will not. I will share that at a later time. For now I am all about soaking up the time I have left and will hopefully be able to keep my stress at a minimum.

So...where are we moving to?! That will be revealed tomorrow!

Wednesday Words: Thanking Teachers

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week and to all those that help educate our little one's

DIY Chalkboard Frame

I am a big fan of chalkboard paint.  The kids love it and I love the endless list of things that you can use it on. I currently have some glass windows that look into another classroom at work and decided that instead of covering up with posters and butcher block paper to painted them a few years ago with chalkboard paint. It has been a huge hit.

With summer now approaching and having some time off starting at the end of this month I am looking forward to DIY projects and I especially love this idea!
To see the full list of instructions click here via Glitter N' Glue. Its super easy and just my kind of project!

Baby Gap Deals

If only I could find deals on clothing like I do for my daughter. Here are some recent finds I scored at our local baby gap for even less than what is marked here on-line.

Swiss Dot Bubble Short. Scored for $15.
I have been waiting and waiting for these shorts to get marked down and they finally did! Yay!

I scored this tank for $5! I also purchased it in baby pink (not shown online).

Striped Dress with diaper cover. Scored for $8!
I love the colors in this dress and its perfect for hot summer days.
This dress can easily go into fall paired with leggings and a cardigan.

My other favorite place to score bargains on children's clothing is of course Target!

What are some of your favorite bargain sites for infant/ toddler clothing?
