What I'm Loving This Week

I heart these vintage gold earrings

I heart this ruffled wrap top. {I think this growing belly of mind may need this!}

I heart this dress. I love the color combo and of course the detail of the bow

I heart these yellow rosette show clips. They would look adorable with the dress shown above.

mini Parisians

No matter what the women and children in France will always win when it comes to looking classy as they hold a true sense of style. Though, I do have to say Gap has really outdone themselves with their American in Paris fall collection. All I know is I will be stalking our baby Gap as I wait for this collection to get marked down as it is beyond ADORABLE!

PS: Its even cuter in person. I was in baby Gap last night buying a gift for a dear friend and it took some true will power to walk out empty handed for myself.

My Nursery Inspiration

Never thought this day would come and more less to be decorating a nursery for a little girl. I have to say finding girls bedding was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I found many cute boy nursery sets that captured my heart but nothing really stood out to me until I saw this one. Its the Sophia bedding collection from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child. I also ordered the petal pink rug as shown. I can't wait for it to arrive!

December will be here before we know it and we are slowly making progress on the nursery. This past weekend we cleaned out the closet and cleared out the guest room. Now its time to paint {our walls are already a grayish shade so not sure if I will keep the current color or go a shade lighter} get our carpets cleaned, redesign a closet, decide on and order furniture, and best of all start decorating. Granted I don't have an eye for decorating like others, but this is the look I am hoping to achieve and am using as my inspiration.

Perfect Treat

Umm.... yes please. adorable monogram & plaid decorative sugar cookies + lemonade= the perfect treat!

A Dream Craft Room

It seems that my weekends are no longer filled with fun activities and instead are being filled with getting our home organized and our guest room cleared out as we transform it into a nursery. This would be fun if we actually had the space for our items and didn't have so many things to sort through! All I know is Goodwill here we come!

Instead of banning my bin of stationary, wrapping paper, gift bags, and ribbon to rubber bins that are stored
under my bed and in the office closet I wish I could have a room like this. My favorite feature...the ribbon spool rack.

End of Summer Treats

We still may have a few weeks to go or in my case months until the summer temps start to go away. Until then I came across some yummy ice cream treats to help get us through the remaining hot days of summer.

Happy Monday

Hope you all had a nice and relaxing weekend. My weekend consisted of me sorting through random bins of papers and photos. This really should have been done several moves and years ago. For instance I came across my schedule of classes from college! Umm I completed undergrad eight years ago! You would think I have a hoarding issue here! On the bright side I slept for 12 hours on Friday and I felt like a new person on Saturday morning. It was wonderful.

Are any of you pack rats? If so, what do you tend not to be able to let go of?

Friday Already?

I have turned into such a scatter brain as all week I have had my days mixed up. Yesterday I thought it was Tuesday but then I realized wait its Thursday! So oops, I guess that explains why I didn't do my weekly post on What I'm Loving this Week. I guess trying to get back into the swing of things with me going back to work {still have no idea where my summer break went} and getting myself into a new routine has taken the best of me. All I know is I plan on taking a lot of naps this weekend and getting myself organized.

Cheers to a great weekend!

Back to School Resolutions

With the school year getting underway for some and only a matter of weeks away for others...I came across an article on back to school resolutions. I thought, "How perfect", because if you are like me, I have not attained my New Years resolution nor do I remember what they were! But trust me, these back to school resolutions are sure to be more attainable than those pesky New Years ones.

My favorite resolution is taking the time to talk to children about their day. Maybe, it's the role I have at school but kids really truly love talking about their day. Okay, maybe not their entire day, but ask them about lunch or recess or if anything funny happened and they are sure to become a chatter box!

More back to school resolutions can be found here.

PS: If you are still keeping up a New Years Resolution I would love to hear about it!

1st day of School

Last night we had open house at school and it was so much fun. I personally, can not believe that today marks the first day of school and that another school year is upon me. Plus, I am truly thankful that I am returning to a job I love.

The first day of school is a day of fear for some and others not so much. My favorite thing about the first day of school was having new school supplies..can we say Lisa Frank!! I was a huge Lisa Frank fanatic back in the day. Now days, its getting new pens and a planner.

What about all you... What was your favorite thing about the 1st day of school!

Teaching Yourself a Lesson

Sometimes only you can teach yourself a lesson. So much truth in this quote.

I have to admit I haven't had the greatest week. I realized that some people for whatever reason are not capable of showing their happiness or thankfulness for you in their life when I feel this is all I have done towards them. I always try to be thoughtful in my actions and I need to remember that not everyone sees or may feel the same way I do.

However, my week did end on a happy note. I had lunch one day with a good friend that has always been there for me. She is probably one of the most genuine people I know and she is truly a blessing to have in my life.

Another friend, reminded me of all the great things that are happening in my life and to not let actions that I have no control over take away those happy thoughts.

I sent a package to a dear friend. To hear how happy she was when I received her phone call instantly put a smile on my face.

I attended a training for school {I go back to work on Wednesday.. eeks}. The main point of it was
the moment we stop believing in ourselves we stop believing in the children we serve.

I received another cute baby gift this week. It has cupcakes on it! Little Miss R is truly becoming my little cupcake.

And... a new life was born this week! A dear friend of mine welcomed her beautiful baby girl into this word. Just seeing how happy her and her husband are and how precious this tiny bundle of joy can bring two people makes you realize that we can't let petty things get us down and take away our goal of being happy.

What I'm Loving This Week

Remember, how I told said that while I was on my babymoon I had the best cupcakes ever?!?! Well... these cupcakes were like heaven on earth. In fact, these cupcakes were not just any ordinary cupcakes they were... Kara's Cupcakes. She was actually featured on Cupcake Wars two weeks ago. She was the runner up but she really should have won.

She offers a wide variety of flavors and even has a gluten free cupcake! The only downside she does not deliver / offer mail order cupcakes :( Then, again that is maybe a good thing for this girls waistline.

My husband had the lemon flavored cupcake and I tried the keylime pie cupcake when we went to her storefront in the Ghirardelli location. They were so good we just had to have them one more time before we left town! Two days later we visited her store near the Chestnut Street shopping area where I tried her Sweet S'more cupcake. This was the cupcake she made for Cupcake Wars. It was so good that I could not stop smiling.

Okay, so I lied. I technically had 2 1/2 cupcakes. The lady gave us a mini Raspberry Dazzle to try which I split with my husband. Funny how I am willing to split the mini cupcake but not the full size one! This one was alright but def not as good as the Keylime Pie, Lemon, and def not as good as the Sweet S'more! and yes...those crumbs in the background is the aftermath of me eating the Sweet S'more cupcake. That poor cupcake did not even stand a chance with me!

Golden Gate Bridge

Last Wednesday, when we were in San Francisco the skies were cloudless and the sun was shining. Apparently this was the place to be. Several people were reading books, children were seen running in and out of the water, and even a few people were parasailing...all with the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge in the distance.

Babymoon Recap: San Francisco Part 2

During our time in San Francisco we went to Coit Tower where we took in an aerial view of the city.

Loved how pennies were tossed outside the tower windows.

Afterwards, we made our way to Lombard Street. Very proud of myself for making this climb as it was well worth it. The flowers along the way were beautiful. { saving some of those photos for another time}.

Around noon we hopped on a ferry and spent the afternoon in Sausalito, which I found to be a very cute, charming town. We had lunch across the street from the city park that had a beautiful water fountain in it. Afterwards, we walked around the main street and bought some salt water taffy afterwards {so yummy!}, and then spent the rest of our time relaxing in the park until our ferry took us back to the city.
