Christmas Recap

For those that celebrate Christmas I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa was nice to everyone this year!

Our Christmas was extra special as it was my daughter's first Christmas. We left cookies and milk out for Santa, Santa even left Elle a letter in her stocking, and he brought lots of fun toys for Elle, a french press for my husband and pretty jewelry for me!

Vintage Valentines

Only two week away from pink and red day! Yes, that would be Valentines Day. I get it (really I do) why some people do not like this day. Lets face it as a kid I never was thrilled about creating a Valentines Day box for our school parties because every year I would make the same box.... a radio with heart speakers. Oh and how can I not forget the whole fight about having to give everyone in class a Valentines Day card. I hated the thought of having to give everyone a Valentines in fear some boy would think I liked him and to me that was not at all thrilling. Then the high school and college years rolled around and I am as single as they come during these days. Try living in a sorority house where the flower guy was coming every half hour delivery flowers that had the wrong name on them. I mean didn't he know by now they all belonged to me?! (I guess the memos got loss in the snowbanks.) But it was during these years where us single ladies would banter together and we created our own Valentines Day fun. Plus, if you think about it its one big day that celebrates my two favorite colors Red and Pink and have you noticed all the fun candy that is out there these days?! So really, with my two favorite colors and a day where eating candy all day is fully acceptable what is there not to love?!

I have complied some really fun Valentines Day ideas that I am going to share with all of you between now and pink and red day! I figured its never too early to start spreading some love.

Candy Cane Dessert

I am hosting my annual ornament exchange party tonight and I came across this adorable treat. I decided that these candy cane hearts would make the perfect treat for my favor bags. These candy cane hearts were really simple to make and this also would make a fun activity to do with little ones. However, the melted vanilla candy bark is very hot at first and I also added peppermint extract to my melted candy bark. I hope my guests enjoy this sweet treat!

Advent Calendar

Today starts the first week of Advent for those that celebrate Advent and what better way to kick off the Advent season than with this super cute Advent calendar seen over at Sweet Paul. I wish I had the time and creativity (sigh) to create this.

Thanksgiving Bliss

Just the husband and I but we sure had a feast fit for a King and Queen. He made it all besides the dessert. (the pumpkin sandwich cookies were sooo yummy!) It was all so good! We then went and saw the Blindside. I love Sandra Bullock and I thought she did an amazing job. This was a great movie and seeing it today really made me feel that much more thankful for all I have been blessed with.
