Celebrating One Year in Texas

This past weekend we celebrated our one year of living in Austin at the beautiful Barton Creek Resort and Spa. How time flies! This is where our adventure all started one year ago when we made the move from Arizona. We needed a place to stay for a few nights until we closed on our home so Barton Creek became our "home" for several days. Such wonderful memories of our first days of living in Texas were held here that we thought it would be fun to come back each year for a weekend, as we start making this a family tradition .

Summer 2013

Miss Elle could not get enough of the pool and we of course enjoyed their yummy chocolate chip cookies. Swimming and jumping sure works up an appetite.
Milk happy hour time at the pool

and what goes with milk?
Only the best chocolate chip cookies do!

Looking back and seeing how much our baby girl has grown and changed from last summer to this summer is just crazy and it also makes me a little sad.

Tie Dye Cupcakes

I spotted these fun tie dyed cupcakes via Can you Stay for Dinner and made a batch last night for my cupcakes n' milk class after school today. I can't wait to surprise the kids today with these fun cupcakes that will be frosted with cool whip and sprinkles. Too bad I won't be able to enjoy any as I gave up desserts and candy this Lenten season.

Besides baking my weekend was quickly filled up with working out, church, a date night to this fabulous place, another fun visit to the zoo and lunch with my dad, and taking in the Oscars.

What fun things did you do over the weekend?
Happy Monday!

Christmas Recap

For those that celebrate Christmas I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa was nice to everyone this year!

Our Christmas was extra special as it was my daughter's first Christmas. We left cookies and milk out for Santa, Santa even left Elle a letter in her stocking, and he brought lots of fun toys for Elle, a french press for my husband and pretty jewelry for me!

What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions that you remember as a child or that you do for your children?

Missed You

I had a my winter wonderland after all. Luckily, we did not get stuck anywhere and we made it to all of our destinations safe and sound despite driving 6 1/2 hrs in a blizzard after a 3 hr flight. We had a fabulous time seeing our family and friends and making some memorable Christmas memories.
I hope you all had a nice holiday that was spent with those that you love.
Here is a recap of my winter wonderland vacation that was held at my sister's lake home in Minnesota.
Enjoy!

PS: I would love to hear about your holiday!

Love x's Seven

Being an aunt is something I value very much. It is almost like being a second mom in some ways. I am lucky enough to be an aunt of three amazing children, miss K, Mr. C, and little miss C. Now that I live far away I only get to see them one- two times a year but when they see their auntie they know its all about having fun and getting spoiled.

This is my oldest niece, Miss K. She is in the 8th grade, straight A student, and talented volleyball player. She in so many ways is my "little sister". We have a very close bond and I am so proud to be her aunt.
This is my nephew/godson Mr. C. Very smart, loves sports, building thing, oh and bugging his sisters! He has a big heart and he certainly holds a special place in my heart.

Little Miss C and her lipgloss (just like her auntie, she is obsessed with lipgloss). Little Miss C is my girly girl. She started Kindergarten this year and I just love hearing about all the fun things she is learning and hearing "I love you" from her little voice.

I am so very thankful for these three musketeers as its never a dull moment when they are all together. Most of all I love all the moments that I get to have with them and of the memories that are yet to be made.
