Lions, and Tigers and Oh My

We bought a family zoo membership at Christmas time and going to the zoo has become a favorite activity. Going to the zoo with my mom when I was little is one of my favorite memories I have of my childhood and of my mom so I of course love taking Elle. We usually go early in the morning as members are allowed into the zoo an hr before general public. During this time all the animals are getting fed so we get to see a lot of neat things during this time.

Not only is this color combo gorgeous and one of my favorites but the styling that went into this dessert table is stunning.

What I'm Loving this Week

I swear all my daughter owns are headbands, books, and dresses. If we are not out at the park swinging we can be found hanging out at the zoo, playing with bubbles or reading. Miss Elle has turned into such a little book worm. As soon as she gets home from daycare she goes into her room, pulls out her books and will read for at least a good twenty minutes. It is so adorable to catch her flipping thru the pages and babbling away. She sometimes will even clap for herself when she finishes a book or will even give her  daddy an applause for his reading- memorization! 

Our favorites at this moment are:

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, I am a Bunny {this was my favorite growing up} and Madeline Loves Animals. 

I ordered a new book this past week after seeing it on another blog and with my obsession with cupcakes I thought it would be the perfect new book for Elle's collection. 

It's called You are my Cupcake!

I am always trying to add to Elle's book collection so if you have any must haves that you either enjoyed as a child or enjoy reading to your child/ nieces/nephews please share!

Keeping Cool

Ugh, the heat has arrived and I am so not ready for it. I feel as if every year the hot, hot temps start earlier and earlier. We are predicted to hit 100+ this weekend {breaking records}. awesome.

Typically, it's in the upper 80's {LOVE} during this time.

Miss E already has 3 swimsuits for this season but she might need one of these adorable suits via Janie and Jack when they go on sale!

So.. cheers to the weekend in keeping cool and kicking off the 2012 pool/ splash pad season!

Bliss: Steep Clean

One of my favorite masks I use on a weekly basis is the Bliss Steep Clean at home facial. It retails for $55 so it's not cheap but, than again I use a $3 bar of soap on my face (Vanicream-LOVE!) and I have had my Steep Clean for over a year. So. in my opinion its worth to splurge on this item.

Steep clean is a 15 min mask that is free of parabans and has no petrochemicals. It is also one of the very few masks that is safe for anyone that might be expecting. Steep Clean is a deep pore cleaner, minimizer for breakouts, exfoliates the skin for a smoother overall brighter appearance, and is especially recommend for congested skin.

Did I also mention it has a very nice scent? I think that is always a bonus!

Fruit Pizza

Another reason I am addicted to Pinterest is due to all the delicious meals and treats I have been making lately. Click here to check out my recipe board.

The latest one I made was this wonderful fruit pizza for our Easter brunch via the Pioneer Woman. Even though I am under the weather {I have strep throat} I still am finding myself wanting more of this fruit pizza.

The best part is the sugar cookie crust and to sweeten the cream mixture I added some powder sugar.

Delicious!
